GoDaddyGoDaddy automatically renewed my domain registration at Rs. 1,199 when the original purchase price was Rs. 199. I was not informed about this massive price increase before the renewal.
The renewal email came after the charge was already processed on my credit card. When I tried to cancel, they said there is a 5-day refund window which had already passed by the time I noticed.
This bait-and-switch pricing strategy is deceptive. The renewal price should be clearly communicated upfront and explicit consent should be required for auto-renewal at a different price.
